Amendment 64, the ballot measure that would make legal limited possession and retail sales of marijuana, has attracted a lot of attention.
So, it makes sense that the campaign has also drawn a lot of financial attention. Ten groups have formed to support or oppose the measure. As a Denver Post analysis of those groups? campaign-finance reports found, more than $3 million has been raised and spent so far in the campaign ? including money raised and spent before the measure was on the ballot. But, if you want to dive deeper, we present to you the spreadsheets we used to get our numbers.
All of these spreadsheets were compiled from information on TRACER, the state?s campaign-finance management service. For both the pro and the con groups, the first one listed ? the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol and Smart Colorado, respectively ? is the main committee on its side of the measure.
One last note: Though the total number of groups for and against Amendment 64 is 10, there are spreadsheets for only nine groups here because an extravagantly named 527 called No on 64, Take the Greed Outta Weed has not yet had to file any disclosures.
Summary of all groups.
