Kristina Koul, Syre Family Advocate is forming a group to support children who are impact by divorce or separation.? Children who have recently experienced parental separation or divorce are welcome to participate.? Also, the group may benefit children whose parents have separated or divorced in the past, but are still experiencing difficulties with the change.
Some issues related to divorce and separation that may be addressed in the group include impact of changes in the family structure, the grieving process, legal issues, and step-parenting.? There will be discussion and activities in each session.
The group will meet once a week for approximately 30 mins.? Grades K-2 will meet during one afternoon recess per week.? Depending on the number or students participating.? Grades 3-4 and 5-6 will meet either together or separately during one lunch/recess period per week.
